Principal Periodontist
Sven graduated as a dentist from the
University of Melbourne in 1991. He started his career as a Captain in
Royal Australian Army Dental Corps and served in a full time capacity
until 2005, including overseas tours to Bougainville and East Timor.
In 2005 Sven completed his Primary exams for the Royal Australasian
College of Dental Surgeons and in 2006 commenced his Doctorate of Clinical
Dentistry (Periodontics). He completed this doctorate and the FRACDS (Perio)
exams in 2008, and then entered specialist private practice on the
Sunshine Coast.
Sven is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australasian
Osseointegration Society, Australian Society of Periodontology, Australian
and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, and a fellow of the Royal
Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He has taught at both
under-graduate and post-graduate level at the University of Melbourne,
University of Queensland and currently in the Specialist programme at
Griffith University. Sven also serves as a consultant Periodontist to the
Royal Australian Army Dental Corps in an Army Reserve capacity.
Sven has three young children and is a keen sportsman, enjoying running,
cycling and riding motor bikes. His other pursuits including real estate,
renovating houses and monitoring the stock market.
Justine Cawley
Dental Therapist
Justine qualified as a
Dental Therapist in 1987 and worked for Queensland Health for over 10
years.
In 1999 she qualified as
a Dental Hygienist through the University of Queensland as part of the
first intake for this degree in QLD. She also obtained a Bachelor of
Health and Exercise Science in 1997 and has an ongoing interest in
fitness, nutrition and overall health.
Justine also supervises
the Dental and Oral Health students at the new Oral Health and Medicine
facility at Griffith University. Justine joined 66 Ashmore Road
Periodontist in 2004 as their main hygienist.
